Notes for Developer

Getting your UUID

A UUID is our way of uniquely identifying your site as an authorised part of our Eyekandy Syndication Network. Each retailer in the Eyekandy Syndication Network receives this unique form of identification so that all content syndicated is appropriately packaged and presented for your unique site. Details on obtaining your UUID are available Here.

Importance of the SKU/EAN/MPN Unique Product Identifiers

The SKU is often referred to as the product code or product id. One of either the MPN/EAN/SKU are the only mandatory fields required for the Point & Place® system to work. There is a section explaining the various different types of Unique Product Identifiers.

This is why for product-level syndication one of the following identifiers is mandatory. If we don’t find a match, we fail silently and the user (shopper) sees nothing.

Domain Whitelisting for Content Security Policies

If your site has a Content Security Policy, please make sure that your tech team has whitelisted our domains under default-src or the specific headers listed in the reference section marked Content Security Policy before you implement Point & Place® on your site:

List of Available Attributes

Eyekandy Syndication Products are selected by passing in values to pre-defined attributes on your Script Tags. Each attribute is responsible for a different action by our servers. A complete list of attributes is available in the reference sub menu > Attributes. You will also find an example for each type of Eyekandy Syndication Product under Integration

Component Based Websites

Eyekandy Syndication Products are Web Components. This means that they can be loaded via React, ViewJS, Gatsby and other similar component based site technologies. There are examples of how to implement Eyekandy Syndication Products as Web Components in all the Eyekandy Syndication Product examples under the Add via Web Components.
