Integrating using Google Tag Manager

Overview

Google Tag Manager has a functionality called Visibility Triggers, which have the capacity of running a specific code block everytime a specific event occurs.


What you will need

For this section, all you will need is script tags which you can generate yourself here


1. Create a Trigger

1.1 Navigate to your workspace container trigger


1.2 Add a new trigger

Click the "New" button, which is located top right of the Triggers container


1.3 Configure your new trigger

Name your new trigger

Click the "Trigger Configuration" container

Select "DOM Ready" from the list which appears on the right side of your screen

If you would like Point & Place® on only specific pages, such as all of your product pages - select "Some DOM Ready Events" and configure the options to best suit your goal

If you would like Point & Place® integrated on all pages - select "All DOM Ready Events"


1.4 Now you've configured your new trigger, click the "Save" button

After saving, you should see a new trigger


2. Create a new Tag

2.1 Navigate to your container workspace overview


2.2 Click "New Tag"


2.3 Configure your new tag

Name your new tag

Click the top box (Tag Configuration) to see a long list of the 50+ tag types:

Scroll down and click the option "Custom HTML"

Now copy the JavaScript code which you generated at the start of this section and paste the JavaScript code into the "HTML" section, the result should look something like this

Click the advanced settings dropdown

Change the "Tag firing option" to "Once per page"


2.4 All done with configuring your new tag, now hook up the new tag to the trigger we made earlier

Click the "Triggering" section just below "Tag Configuration" section

Select the Trigger we created earlier from the options to the right side of your screen


2.5 Now everything is hooked up, save the new tag

3. Preview and Submit

3.1 Navigate to your container workspace overview


3.2 Click the "Preview" button

Located top right of your screen

Ensure your eyekandy button is now present on your website/product pages


3.3 Once you are happy with the integration, submit your changes

Located top right of your screen, just next to the "Preview" button
